Damian’s high-pressure, highly skilled role brought with it high levels of stress at work. This, coupled with existing diagnoses of ADHD and Generalised Anxiety Disorder, meant Damian found it hard to be productive and focused in the workplace. His mental health was deteriorating to the point that he was at risk of self-harm.
Our framework for Damian’s case took a multi-faceted approach to ensure he received holistic care quickly. This entailed coordinating care with his regular GP, and taking time to understand Damian’s existing diagnoses and social and work environment. We supported Damian’s overall health with access to a team of psychologists and allowed him to choose the professional he felt a connection with, to reduce his anxiety. We also organised a long-term wellbeing plan to assist with sleep, diet and coping strategies.
This holistic approach had wide-ranging benefits, including reducing Damian’s risk. Improved focus and ability to self-regulate emotions helped at times of extreme stress, creating a higher output he was proud of, with a sense of psychological safety. Better mental health resulted in 40% reduction in absenteeism and 100% loyalty to his organisation.
