Who is CU health for?
CU Health serves as a Complete Wellbeing Solution (CWS) for your organisation and extends well beyond traditional Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). We are dedicated to helping everyone become the best versions of themselves by providing integrated care that covers both mental and physical health needs. Our approach is designed to work in conjunction with existing healthcare providers or act as the primary GP for those without one.
This versatility makes CU Health ideal for organisations that wish to offer their employees a robust support system that enhances their wellbeing, as well as for individuals seeking a reliable and comprehensive healthcare solution. Whether enhancing an existing EAP, functioning as a standalone healthcare service, or serving as a regular GP, CU Health adapts to meet diverse health needs, ensuring all members have access to the care they require to thrive.
Why does CU Health provide both mental and physical healthcare?
CU Health provides both mental and physical healthcare because we recognise the interconnected nature of these health aspects. Physical and mental health conditions often influence each other, requiring a holistic approach to ensure effective identification, diagnosis, and treatment. Our team of subject matter experts, including GPs, dietitians, psychologists, and health coaches, works collaboratively to address the full spectrum of health issues.
Evidence consistently shows that symptoms of mental health conditions can be closely linked to physical ailments. For example, poor sleep and diet can significantly impact mental well-being, and physical symptoms can often mask or exacerbate mental health issues. Involving GPs alongside mental health professionals ensures accurate diagnoses and safe, comprehensive treatment plans. By focusing on holistic, whole-person health, CU Health aims to improve overall well-being, recognising that a multifaceted approach is essential to truly support and enhance an individual’s health.
What types of appointments does CU Health provide?
CU Health offers a range of appointment types designed to accommodate the busy schedules of working professionals and time-poor members. Our flexible scheduling includes early morning and evening slots, ensuring that all clients can find convenient times to engage with our healthcare services.
- Initial and Extended Appointments: For new members or those with complex needs, these sessions provide a thorough understanding of the member’s health status, allowing enough time to discuss detailed health concerns and establish comprehensive care plans.

These shorter sessions are perfect for discussing test results, repeat prescriptions, or minor health updates, ensuring members can quickly return to their daily activities without disruption.
These tailored appointment options ensure that every interaction with CU Health is efficient, effective, and aligned with our member’s health and wellness goals, making it easy to maintain consistent care even with a demanding lifestyle.

What is an Annual Health Check?
An Annual Health Check at CU Health is a comprehensive assessment designed to provide a complete overview of a member’s health and well-being. This thorough examination, conducted by a CU Health GP and a health coach, evaluates medical history, identifies risk factors, and assesses key health areas including cardiovascular health, diabetes risk, cancer screening, and more. The goal is to empower members to take charge of their health by catching any early warning signs and making informed decisions about prevention and care.
During the Annual Health Check, if further investigations are deemed necessary, such as pathology tests or imaging, these will be ordered. Following these tests, a follow-up appointment is typically scheduled to review the results. At this follow-up, the GP may issue a detailed care plan with treatment and management recommendations, and if needed, refer the member to a CU Health dietitian, psychologist, or an external specialist. This holistic approach ensures that every aspect of a member’s health is considered, leading to better long-term health outcomes and proactive disease prevention.

Our GPs are equipped to identify when a physical examination is necessary and will guide members on how to access the required in-person care.
It's important to note that in-person appointments are not covered within the CU Health membership benefits and are billed according to the fee policies of the external provider. Should an in-person consultation be required, our team will inform the member about potential out-of-pocket costs. Members will be responsible for these costs at the time of their appointment.
